I just revisited a Groove3 video about mixing with Sonar X1.  The presenter uses a lot of the Softube ProChannel tools.  Cakewalk wants $300 for the bundle, and its 4 or 5 years old.

I'm wondering if more recent plugins have obviated the usefulness of the Softube mix bundle?  Is it still worth it?  $300 gets me the Slate Digital Everything bundle for a year...  Thoughts?

Thanks!

Slate digital monthly I'd a much better deal. Pause and resume whenever you want. Best thing I ever did regarding plugins.

I purchased this bundle when it was first advertised on the Cakewalk website here. I used them on several projects, but not so much nowadays.
I still use the FET compressor (very quick to dial in a usable sound), but hardly the Tsar reverb at all (what with ReMatrix, Breverb and all). The EQ's, I find, can be mostly replaced by offerings from both Nomad Factory and Sonar itself (there's a mountain of them available now).
Not that Softube don't make great products, it's just that I find the 'plugins' that are bundled with Sonar more than capable enough for my level of expertise, and I've gained a good working knowledge of those 'plugins and find that I know my way around them quicker and with more confidence. Just my 2c.
