  • (SOLVED) Help with audio dropouts, possibly caused by importing audio (p.2)

I don't believe this has anything to do with Manchester, as I have rolled back to previous versions and it still does the same. I am thinking that it must be a Windows problem, so I am going to try a few things tonight, including install Windows 10, give the computer a nice clean start and see if it is ok then.
One thing I can help with is rolling back, in the Command Centre I think you right click on where it says Sonar in the list of programmes, VST and available downloads then there are options to uninstall, roll back etc etc.

OK you have mentioned dragging a lot.
How about just export or copy the track to the folder of the project that you are working with, and then import it into the current project.

Thanks Dan, I will give this a try tonight as well, but I am not sure if it will make a difference as I have always dragged in files this way and it has never been a problem before. The bit that perplexes me the most still is why this affects every project once I have done this. I cannot think why importing one piece of audio into 1 project would then stop every single project playing.
I can confirm that it isn't a soundcard issue as I have tried both a Firewire card and a USB one and neither work.

I'm also experiencing tons of audio dropouts - using the latest and greatest Manchester update.  I wish I knew how to go back to a previous load.

You should start a new thread detailing your specific problem, recipe to recreate it and your computer and audio hardware specs (see my sig for an example.)  We can get you sorted out.

I have solved the problem, it appears that there was no output for the midi, which for some reason seemed to have an effect on audio being dragged into the project. I reassigned the midi output to the onboard soundcard card and it started playing a lot better but I could still crash Sonar just by pressing play/stop repeatedly. I then swapped out the Firewire and hey presto everything works like a dream now. I can drag in audio files on the fly, set 16 tracks to comping mode and managed to record 250 plus tracks without a single click, dropout or any issue. I love Sonar again.

Can you clarify 'swapped out the Fire Wire'?  What are you using instead?

Thanks,

Sorry I meant to write, swapped out the Firewire card in the PC. Looks like the one installed was not working correctly but all is well now.
