i've had a few instances myself of chipmunk speed playback... seems like it's only in the past few months, so I don't know what the responsible party is.  I just closed the player and maybe another program or so, restarted it and it was fine.  I should investigate more but I get busy doing many things and like anything, if things start to glitch, I just restart Windows.

ASIO hardware is set to 48/24
had to restart windows, played the 48/24 file and it now works.
Also noticed this happens when importing MP4 video: 1280 x 720 48/24
..going to restart the F*ing OS to see if that "fixes" the problem.
