SilkTone.... great, sounds like you are digging the sound too.... I am amazed at how good it sounds.  Hate to say it, but it sounds better to me than me throwing a mic rig around my leslie and recording LIVE....

I know for sure, it is a lot easier to set up the VST.

Nice clean sounds but it is a CPU hog. They have to fix that...

Jim, whats you take on the distortion, is it good at really dirty sounds?

I really like the NI B4 Leslie, loved it for many years. I have other nice PSP plugs though.

It's does it better than my 760 but I would have to give the distortion a B-, not terrible but the VST on its own isn't going to give you that Jon Lord sound (RIP).

How ya been by the way?

I am doing fine thanks, in Dubai at the moment, DAWless but earning money for new toys. I hope all is well with you.

Yes, to get that unique Jon Lord sound you to try to emulate his signal path. He would put the Hammond through a Marshal amp, else Richie Blackmore would drown him out.

He also had an RMI electra piano built into to the organ so he could layer the sounds.  I would not say I have nailed that sound but layering your RMI samples with NIs vintage Organ's C3 on a clean DI setting in Kontakt, then putting it through Amplitube and finally XILS labs LX122 rotary gives some interesting results.

Update, PSP has a released an update that reduces the CPU load.  Haven't installed it yet but wanted to let you know.
