found 3 pages in help files on subject - thx again for responses

Sorry... I was gonna follow up on the previous post but yeah the AS beat/clip ruler thingie is likely what's being referred to and can be accessed through the Pallette IIRC.

There is a user here who goes by FastBikerBoy who has a youtube channel (under the handle VeryFastBikerBoy or something like that) and he has a couple good vids that talks about the AS beat/transient stuff. Doing a couple searches should pull them up.

I'm in the middle of my own woes right now but if you don't find them I can scrounge 'em up for you later.

Greetings from ON. ;-)

It shouldn't be that fuxxored based on my experience but as I said... X series dude (and I don't use looping that often).

Does Sonar 8 have a "clip inspector" type setup? In the X series you can select a clip and open the "Clip Inspector". Sometimes plain old recorded audio gets assigned "pitch/tempo/time sig" data right on the clip. This may conflict with the current project but lays dowmant until you turn the clip into a "Groove Clip". Then Sonar tries to force it to those parameters.

Clearing that data BEFORE converting to a Groove Clip solves it because it's just totally undefined. Then you can assign those values after.

Sorry... it's hard to explain and I've only seen it mentioned in theoretical problem examples BUT if there is a similar "Inspector" assigning such paramaters to your raw clips before conversion clearing that crap might be the fix.

And yes... it is unnecessarily complex IMO. Cool... but convoluted.

I could also be totally talking out my arse and not helping at all but if you see a reference to such clips data in the manual take a look OR maybe click on and "inspect" your newly created groove clips and make them conform to what you actually want.

Cheers.

Wondering if either of you would be willing to fix the file into a loopable clip & recording yourself fixing it (screen capture vid) - just a thought, & it is only like 7 sec clip - just figured if I see it being fixed, hopefully THEN I'll get it!
Watching all these vids is too daunting & as it is a "finger picking" tune, the # of transients etc scares the $%^ outta me - dagan.haddad@gmail.com
