I've been trying to narrow this problem down all day long and I'm at my wits end. I load a particular project and this happens when it's done loading:

After the crash in which the reporter fails to work as usual, I reload it. The project loads but I have no sound and need to restart my computer.

It seems to be only certain project files this happens to and I'm fairly certain it's connected to my VS-700 interface but would like to get to the bottom of this. I don't want to buy a new interface only to have this continue to happen.

RDAS1089.dll is a Roland driver, so I think it is safe to assume that your interface driver isn't working with Win10.

You would have to check with Roland for a fix, but I think there is a Roland and Win10 thread in the Hardware forum. Maybe there is helpful info there?

What did you do for system/motherboard drivers for your new build ?

That's what I picked up from Google earlier. I'm using the walk around and was working at first, now I'm getting all sorts of hell. I don't get why some projects work while others crash out. Makes no sense to me.

32 bit plugs?  Can you open the project in safe mode?

No 32 bit plugins in the project that I'm aware of. Tried loading in safe mode and either it crashes out or just doesn't give me any sound on playback (yet all the meters are working fine). Close out and load up a different song, no issue. :\

Just tried loading it without the interface on and got this:

But isn't the interface driver still active? I would remove the interface driver, restart and reload the driver. If it continues to crash on start up then you may have to reinstall Sonar.

Hrmm, I'll give it a try in the morning. Those drivers are such a pain to install. I might try using my VS-100 on it since there are some Win10 drivers for it. Will also see about reading the dump files and see if I can tell what exactly is causing the crashes. Hopefully they are written in a way that can be read without needing to decode a bunch of information. Worse comes to worse, I can send them into Cake and hope they get back to me.

Could that be an access violation - a problem with permissions for something?

I know some of that used to occur from being behind on Windows maintenance, but that was principally folks trying to run one of the X2 or X3 maintenance versions where they did not have current C++ runtime routines that were required by coding changes in Sonar.

Just wondering if that sort of thing might be at play - OR maybe something needed/wanted to be installed or launched with Run As Administrator explicitly selected as an option. (maybe?)
