Hi all,

I'm just in the process of setting up my new rig and reinstalling everything. I have X3 Producer patched up to X3e (64 bit). Komplete Ultimate has installed fine and is working perfectly. I have just installed Trilian and all went well with the installation. VST's to the correct folders, samples on my samples drive. The problem is that Sonar won't recognize it. When I scan plugins, I see Trilian.dll flit past, so it's being recognized by the scan - it just doesn't show up in my list of VSTi's. Nor does it show its face in the plugin manager either.

Any suggestions?

If I remove the dll from the plugins folder, the toaster will pop up to recognize that it's been removed. If I then put it back, the toaster will inform me that it's been scanned and one new plugin has been found. But it just won't appear in my menu.

This is exactly like the problem I had with the Venom 303 synth on my last rig, in that the scanner would recognize it and scan it, but it would not show up in my instrument list. This I put down to something screwy on my old rig. But this is a brand new rig, brand new installation of everything, and I'm seeing the same problem again.

Well this is weird. It IS showing up in my instrument list, but under the name "Ruby." Why is that? It was never Ruby before, it was always Trilian.

sharke - I was using Trilian last night with Sonar X3e Producer, no problems. Then again, I didn't go through a reinstall like you've done.

Well it's now showing properly in the plugin menu. First it showed up as "Ruby," then when I authorized it and installed the updates, the name changed to "Trilian." Go figure. I don't remember that confusion the first time I installed it.

Who is Ruby?

Maybe the previous installation used a different value for VSTPlugInNameFormat see: http://www.cakewalk.com/D...p;Req=INI_Files.4.html

This helped me tremendously. I finally found it as Ruby as well. Very weird.

I just went thru the same thing with the Trilian update and it now calls itself Ruby. So what do I do to change the name back to Trilian? I work on a PC and am using Sonar Professional. Thanks for any help, Rick
