it's so amazing how things get fixed when all of the pertinent information is presented, eh, MM?

EDIT: for anyone reading this - the firewire card I linked to does have win7x64 support.  that's what I'm running it on.

Yes Beag', AND especially when it  doesn't erupt into name calling  and derogatory remarks like upstairs

This interface is amazing. I haven't even dug too deep into the thing. I basically am just recording direct audio. I'll probably be doing some vocals soon and then I'll be getting another KRK.

I would recommend this 100% to someone who just wants to dig into creating music.. I still have yet to try that texas instruments card I bought. I've been to busy recording on different scales. I'll probably try it out when I get a chance.

Curious, so which firewire device did you end up getting to work, was it the VIA? or TI off another card with the Saffire?

I had the same problem I was using the firewire connection that comes with my PC TI chipset...it never worked although its a six pin which means it is BUS powered.

I had to buy a 3 socket firewire PCI

It works like a beauty now!

6 Years later and i'm having the exact same problem. PCI Card accept and on device manager, Saffire 14 not and no fw light. Power and LKD Are on. Really not sure what the problem is I've tried multiple cards and cables. Spoke to the support team they want me to try it on a mac which i'm having trouble finding somebody to help mne with that. I'm running windows 7 64bit. I originally had a pre built lenovo pc and the card and pro14 were working on it had its ups and downs and time outs but more or less working. Now i've rebuilt with a gigabyte motherboard the pro14 cant be detected. If somebody could help me with this i'll love you forever. I'll attach links to the pci cards i have/tried already.

Considered not good form to piggy back OP's thread and rake up and old thread. I see you have a new thread here however for responses...
