Any of you guys at the NAMM Show? Just wondering about the price and availability on Roland's new flagship interface - the Studio Capture. Finally some direct out monitor mixing with a dedicated reverb!

Thanks, Brandon. Will it interface with my VS700C pretty much like my VS700Rs are now?

Brandon said on another thread that it won't aggregate.

I wonder what the maximum  bit depth/sample rate would be if you hook up two of those to your system. What are the technical limitations of USB2 bandwith?

And if they make the drivers officially compatible with USB3 ports. I've tested my Octa-Capture with USB3 and it works just fine. But it's not officially supported..

Hi
don't be confused, this audio interface is usb 2 and it works connected in any port that is compatible or backwards compatible with usb 2, usually usb3 ports are backward compatible with usb 2, your ports are, that's why it worked! ;)

"new" studio capture?  I bought one a couple of years ago.

I use 2 Studio-Captures synched together for 32 ins and 20 outs. When used in this configuration you can only use 44.1 sample rate! If you want any higher you can only use 1 at a time in ASIO. Also, the reverb in this thing is horrible!!!!! I have had clients when working, the few times I tried using it, actually ask me to turn it off!!
Those are the main downside points with the Studio-Captures from my experience. I am still very, very happy with these interfaces and feel that they are worth every penny I paid for them. They are used every day and have not had 1 crash caused by them. Any time there has been a crash has been from me mucking around with other features or plugins, experimenting in SPLAT.
Btw, I have not tried any other drivers than ASIO. With ASIO I can get some pretty big projects playing as low as 96 samples! 128  samples covers anything else pretty well.

I've had my Quad Capture for a few years.....nice interface, but Roland support for it just seemed to drop off the face of the earth.    Going with the new UAD Apollo Twin USB3 for my next interface.  Shipping any day they say....

If you are interested, there is another thread on here about my difficulties when drivers crash in SPLAT. I won't go in to the whole story but a fellow poster has instructions on how to access and download the drivers for the Capture from Microsoft. I will be right back with the link!
