Forum member, azslow3, and myself came up with this concept of using my PlayStation 4 game controller for a control surface for Sonar X3.  The controller gives me the ability to do just about everything that'd be either difficult, or impossible, with keyboard shortcuts.  It also has speech output with sapi5.  With the controller, I have transport control, MSR, I/O selection, FX insertion/removal, and track/bus mixing.  Several other things are configured.  Here's a YouTube video of me going over the setup and controls.  Basically, between this, and the keyboard shortcuts, I am able to do just about everything.

I am amazed with what people can accomplish. This is something that could benefit many people. A corporation would still be arguing about the design and you just got it done. My hat's off to you, great job.

Wireless (BT) / USB Sonar controller for ~$50. And there is still big potential for improvements, 2 joysticks and touchpad are not yet in use

Notes: speech can be turned off with one check-box, the preset should work out of the box with any game controller (with the same of more number of buttons, otherwise controls should be "MIDI re-learned").

I think clip editing is possible with using a new function/option selection and then we could upen up the controls to do different things, including an analog stick for a job wheel.  Let's try this!
