Vastman
worked fine for me... Don't really need this with Trillian and a zillion other things but definitely wanna support "The Craig" and maybe it'll motivate me to try Rapture sessions...
Much appreciated! I think you'll find the pack optimizes
electric bass for
keyboard bass, which is a somewhat different approach than other sampled instruments.
As to the EB5 changes, the main differences are using FLAC instead of WAV to reduce loading time and memory footprint, but more importantly, accessing Rapture's 12 instrument page controls. It took a huge amount of time to tie these controls into strategic parameters within Rapture Pro/Session. If you have a keyboard with knobs like Akai's Advance 49, those eight knobs provide some pretty cool real-time options.
One lesson I learned from doing this pack is how basses can sound
so different from each other. The Les Paul Standard and Midtown basses are very different from each other, as well as the EB5. If I had to summarize the differences...
- LP Standard Bass - dark, powerful
- Midtown - bright but rounded/deep, somewhat Rick-like
- EB5 - snap/definition from the swamp ash body, versatility from the pickup switching
