  • [SOLVED] Strange Error Message (new to me)

When I open a .CWP, or even a .CWB file in SPLAT Lexington, I'm getting an error box which states the following:

Loading Error: Error uncompressing saved file.

So, I click OK. It stalls for a second, then the message appears again.

I click OK, and the program loads normally. The only difference I see is that one of my ZETA tracks reverts back to a default sound, which is no big deal as I actually do remember what sound I was using. Other than that, everything seems to work fine once the song is loaded.

I've tried saving the song as a different name, as a bundle, to a different folder, etc. etc, and get the same result, even when I open old songs. I've rolled back to Kingston also, but find the same results.

Fortunately, I'm not losing any songs, but obviously, there's something going on here.....and I fear it's a precursor of a major disaster if I don't figure it out.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi. Which other plugins do you use in that project? Could it be a plugin that is the culprit?
Have you tried to open it in safe mode? Hold Shift down, when opening the project.
Best of luck.

I would stop using bundles.
Is the zeta track frozen?

I'm using a couple other plugs (EZ drummer 2, SI Strings, some Pro-Channel plugs), but not having any problems with them. They retain the sounds and settings. I even have another ZETA track with a different sound, that is retaining the saved sound. It's just that one ZETA track that keeps reverting back.

I did try installing the ZETA from CCC to no avail.

I will try opening in Safe Mode and see it that makes a difference. But the error message has me concerned.

I only use bundles for backing up my .wav's on my external drive. I tried opening the bundle just to see if it was only a .cwp issue. But as I stated, even  with the .cwb files, I'm still getting this error message.
I guess I might have to try a complete re-install as this seems to be a Sonar-related issue. Or maybe the new Manchester upgrade might do the trick.

It almost sounds like this http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3342893 but the link is about z3ta+2 and not z3ta+.

Scook,

I think you're right. That guy got the same error message as I'm getting.

The error message is no more! To solve this issue, I did the following:

Opened the song
Clicked OK when the error messages came up. Song loaded fine as usual.
Inserted a new soft synth track and made sure it was the Zeta 2.2 (latest version).
Dragged my midi clips from the Zeta 2.1 track down into the 2.2 track.
Pulled up the right patch.
Saved.
Deleted Zeta 2.1 track.
Voila! No more error messages.

Thanks to all how helped out. This forum rules!
