You might try resetting the MCU mode, updating your MCU drivers, check your MIDI connections. Mackie support had me flash firmware last time I had a problem, it helped.

I still have not resolved the problem...i did get an email from sonar which recommended all that i have read in the forums. I did a clean uninstall deleted all shared folders and cleaned the registry. reinstalled and updated. same exact problem it starts imediately with " a control surface dll is not installed". all control surface dll's are clearly installed including any updates provided by sonar. I need to get sonar running. is there any way around this, such as a safe mode upon start?

Thanks
george

I have encountered the same problem - occurred when moving from XP to Vista.

Rename normal.cwt to something else and try loading SONAR?

Renaming the Normal template doesn't clear the problem. I've tried switching the MCU onto a different Midi interfaace, but the problem persists. No response from Cakewalk Tech Support.

Should have said: this is Sonar 7.0.2 with Vista, but XP still works fine if I switch the hardware (Control Surface and midi interface back over).

This problem went away a long time ago following upgrades to Sonar (now on X3)
