So what I'm understanding about the command center, it will install all of your cakewalk software with the push of a button?
Like IK custom shop? installs most but not all of my IK plugs.
Is there limits as to older CW software versions?  I still use pyro 5 and HS8 but they are not in my store account.
So it must be important to have all products in  an account from the start? or not?

Am I wrong in understanding how this works?

It does not have anything to do with the older versions, This is managment for the new activation system. Your old versions do not show on the list as many threads have already said in panic.

Just to confirm, Command Center only works with new products, the first being the new version of SONAR. Old products won't work in Command Center.

I'm upgrading to Platinum (directly from 8.5.3, never having used the X family).

I see the default installation folders for VST's in the Command Center, but they seem a bit messy to me, so I was thinking of changing them, like this:

                   CC Default                                                                  My Idea

VST  32:    C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VST Plugins\VST2\32-bit

VST  64:    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins            C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VST Plugins\VST2\64-bit

VST3 32:  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST3     C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VST Plugins\VST3\32-bit

VST3 64:  C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3              C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VST Plugins\VST3\64-bit

I'm wondering if there are any drawbacks to my new, naming scheme

Don't change the path for anything VST3

No other VST3 plugins allow redirecting the installation directory. They don't even offer a path choice.

They all create folders by manufacturer in the VST3 folder by default.

You may have plugins that don't come from Cakewalk.

The convention I've adopted as have many others, is;

Program Files (x86)/ VST Plugins/manufacturer x86 plugins
Program Files/ VST Plugins/manufacturer x64 plugins

Leave VST 3 to default
