Does anyone who has installed Melodyne 4 know if they have improve it's vibrato function. I used to have the ability in V-Vocal to add vibrato to a vocal. I used it sparingly of course but it would really help elevate of vocalist who has no vibrato. In V-Vocal you could draw it in at the end of a long note for example. I'm astounded that you cannot do this in Melodyne. Everything I read regarding vibrato in Melodyne is about taming a singers vibrato. I want to be able to draw a nice vibrato at the end of a long note, not increase the pitch fluctuations that are already there.

If the answer is no, then does anyone know if it is possible to get hold of a version of V-Vocal for the new SONAR or is there another plugin anyone knows of that can do this?

I'm thinking of going with Melodyne Studio since the upgrade is only $49 dollars more than the $99 for the Editor 2 upgrade, if I understand it correctly...

I'm very tempted by that. The Studio-only sound editor feature is really unique and very interesting.

Audiodeluxe has the upgrade for $126 (go all the way through to checkout) - even better!

Yeah, but you have to wait until they manually process it! Damn!

I get confused with my Melodynes.  Went to the site and that is quite an offer.

FYI I just upgraded and  installed Melodyne Studio 4. It overwrites the "editor" or "singletrack" version but Melodyne Studio 3 remains operable. I had no install issues and loaded some vocal Projects that were originally using editor in Sonar Platinum and the loaded OK with all Melodyne info still in the original tracks.

Yes, I was looking at exactly the same thing at

https://www.celemony.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/CelemonyShop.woa/2/wo/ko6dLC23h613sNs2ot0H50/0.0.23.23.5.37

It says "Upgrade from Melodyne editor (all versions) to Melodyne 4 studio – Promotion price valid until 04/30/2016" for $149.

I have several questions:

1) Do they honor that price for those of us who got Melodyne 2 Editor from the special Cakewalk deal?  I assume they will because my account at Celemony shows the right serial number for my Editor 2 version.

2) If I upgrade now, with that work OK with the existing SPlat, or do we have to wait until SPlat officially supports Melodyne 4?  Notice that this price has an expiration date.

3) How will I ever figure out how to use this stuff?  Those Celemony guys are freaking geniuses.

Not sure about that one...maybe ask them?

Worked successfully for me. Just ran install, activated and good to go. Seems nice and smooth.

Agree with that.

PS. Bought mine from the above: 'Audiodeluxe has the upgrade for $126 (go all the way through to checkout) - even better!' Took a few hours for it to come through though. But good to go now.

Fabio - you gotta fix the quotes and /quotes
I agree with Fabio though. It will work fine (I was in the exact same situation) - the Editor 2 license is a "real" license, and will upgrade fine. It works fine in SONAR - just don't install the "Essentials 4" when that gets bundled. This is no different than not letting SONAR touch your Editor 2 version - like you do now.

That is the $99,000 question ;-)
I, for one, won't be figuring it out for a while...

Thanks to  jbraner, I was able to get the upgrade from Editor 2 to Studio 4 from AudioDeluxe for $125.99.  However, when I went to Celemony get the upgrade, I saw that Melodyne Studio REQUIRES an iLok 2, so I had to buy a new iLok 2 since I like to have Melodyne on several computers as I seem to upgrade them (computers) every so often. Still, it's a great deal, so, I will patiently wait for the iLok 2 to arrive from Amazon with free shipping ($10 cheaper than Sweetwater which is where I usually buy stuff)!  LOL!  In the meantime, I will have to be content to use Editor 2 and watch videos on Melodyne 4...

Note: I also see that, if I'm reading this right, that Melodyne Studio 4 overwrites Editor 2 leaving it in the dust. I understand that it also upgrades the iLok license as well to 4......

Don't thank me - thank Audiodeluxe 😉

I use ilok even for Editor, so I didn't realise that Studio *has* to use it.

Yes - the studio 4 overwrites the editor (or whatever you have) ver 2, and all the ilok stuff sorts itself out. In my case I had to surrender the ver 2 license andactivate the Ver 4 one. This is not unusual, Soundtoys did the same thing.

Melodyne 4 Studio does not "require" iLok. I'm running it on two computers without any iLok dongle
