Has anyone got an E-Mu 0404 USB audio interface working under Windows 8?

If so what drivers are you using?

That's really a fantastic audio card. Too bad there's virtually no support for it.

I wouldn't hold my breath on Windows 8 drivers ... they just came out with Windows 7 drivers.

I just threw out my EMU-0404 PCI card a couple months ago ... it just didn't seem to work right on anything but a Pentium XP based system.

It is a great card and I've been running my Emu-0404 PCExpress card with windows 7 64bit & 32bit perfectly well for the last two years.

I'm still running an EMU 1820m with no problems on Win 7 64 bit, but I also have doubts about them issuing any newer drivers. If the Win 7 drivers don't work in Win 8, we may have to choose between staying on Win 7 or doing both a new OS and a new interface. That's life!

1820m here, win 8 64.  using all inputs/outputs, with ADAT I/O connected to mixer, and both MIDI ports. Currently at 44.1/24,   X2,   8.5.3.  Works fine.  Using the last drivers published.

I also tested the 0404 usb, with this computer, trying to get the fader port to work. Interface works. Not Faderport.

X2a cured the computer freezing when exiting Sonar.

The main problem I have had with the 1820, win 7 32/64, and win 8 64,  is the drivers do not play well with the Faderport. Hence not using the Faderport.

That's great. The version I had was the original PCI one, not the PCI-e ... it was really old.

I have a 0404 PCI running on w7 32. Works fine.  Another card died. We mourned.

Way sad that crative bought emu.  They have been totally stupid about how to manage the brand and the products.  I figger it will be gone soon.

I had the PCIe version on Win7 64.  Could not get the SPDIF to work correctly.  Had them RMA it, second version could not work.    After it was too late to return, MAudio put out better drivers for the AP2496 it was supposed to replace.

Boo creative.

I HAVE A FIX!!!! AFTER HOURS and hours of scouring the web nobody had a solution so I figured it out trial and error. First plug the emu 0404 in, and go to device manager. Make sure it shows up there, even tho it says no drivers available. THEN AND ONLY THEN INSTALL THAT LINK IS TO THE WINDOWS 7 BETA DRIVER 32 BIT. The reason it keeps saying the no product is available on your pc error is because device manager isn't reading the emu as connected. THAT is the product the error message is talking about. Please share this as I almost had to buy a new audio interface and definitely saved a lot of hassle by figuring this out. Hope I helped.

I have an EMU1820m and I upgraded my DAW from Win7 64-bit to Windows 8 64-bit and it works.  The only thing that was a little bit of a problem was that my windows system sounds weren't playing back at all when playing back videos and such.  I ended up routing the system sounds to my HD TV/Hdmi and looping back from the TV with an optical out to the optical in on my EMU1820.  Works fine.  Still a great card for my Sonar X3 system.   Sadly, Creative is ignoring the EMU line and future drivers probably won't be developed.
