Thanks for this info guys. My 1820M has been working great on Win7 with the beta drivers but I had been wondering if I would be in trouble if I would need to upgrade to Win8. Nice to know it still works well. I love that card, it has enough I/O for my small setup, sounds great and has pretty flexible routing. Not to mention good latency figures.

I have an Emu 0404 PCI card with the last updated drivers working just fine on a Windows 8.1 x64 home built computer. All music programs - Sonar X3d, Windows Media Player, VLC Player and standalone versions of VSTis get along quite nicely with it.

DeBro, good to see you! My daughter was asking if you were still around not long ago. Some of your tunes from our SHS4 days are still among our favorites.
Glad to see there's hope for my 0404PCI. It's a great, but underrated soundcard. I do wish they had made more of an effort to stay in the game.

RobertB good to see you too in the Sonar X Series forum. Over the past few years I've been much involved in my visual art. However, now I've returned to composing, recording, mixing music and rendering my vocals in Sonar X3d. My first two projects are in the final mix stages and I'll post a link in the Songs Forum when all done. As to the Emu 0404, this card has served me well since the SHS4 days and to this point is still going strong.

I wouldn't hold my breath on Windows 8 drivers ... they just came out with Windows 7 drivers.

A recent release of drivers for Win7? Where did you find them? I just looked on their web site and the latest release is 2011.

I've been running the PCI version of the 0404 card for at least six years, maybe eight (don't remember when I bought it). The only trouble I ever had was that--for a while--PatchMix would suddenly and spontaneously become invisible to the OS and I'd have to reinstall. But it doesn't do that any longer.

Frankly, I'll run this card into the ground unless I get a sudden windfall. And I mean a big windfall.

Hearing that it works with Windows 8/64 gives me hope that it will run under Windows 10/64. I'm currently running 7/64 and I don't think there's a PCIe Solution that's even close for the money. Great sound card and I work it very, very hard.

slartabartfast,
I run my EMU 0404 USB on win 8.1 x64 using the old Win 7 drivers. IIRC, I installed the Win 7 drivers in compatibility mode but I am not sure this is necessary.
