Actually, SONAR's mouse wheel behavior comes very close to doing that:
 
1. Hover mouse over a fader - you get a rough adjustment.
2. Hover mouse over a value while holding shift - each mouse wheel click changes the fader value by 0.1 dB.

Um...wow.  THANKS for that.  I LOVE it. 

 
Glad you like it! The issue often isn't that SONAR can't do something...the issue is finding out how to do it. That's the same for all deep software, though. Not sure what the solution is, other than amassing experience. 
 

Yes, this a great tip, BUT ... having to situate for two-handed use in a corner station with a guitar ...
Separate targets for the mouse wheel for course and fine would be ideal.

IMHO Sonar is by far the best DAW for Windows. Every update has been great and this one is awesome. Sonar has greatly improved throughout the course of this year. Sign me up for another year of updates.

Im on Windows 8.1 pro / Platinum. Same issue has occurred with both Kingston and Lexington updates. During installation either from the command center or from the update file downloaded from my account I get a FINISHING UPDATE message and when I look inside the task manager I see process failed.
 
However when I force close this Sonar opens fine with the new update applied.
 
Just wondering why this is and should I be concerned??

That reminds me. Since this is about to be the first time most will renew their 12-mo. agreement, what is the proper way to renew, and can this be done by either purchasing the upgrade again through a 3rd-Party re-seller, or is there a "right" link on Cakewalk's site? I maybe have missed this info.
