I use MC6 to create electronic music with the virtual instruments using a MIDI keyboard. Well, my MIDI has broken. Right in the middle of working on a project! Is there any way I can use the keys on my keypad to make music?

Can I make music without a MIDI keyboard using the virtual instruments?

I know I have done this before with other production software such as LMMS.

Is there any way? Please help me I can't afford another MIDI Keyboard :(

What do you mean your MIDI is broken? Sometimes MIDI can be finicky, but just needs to be reset once in a while. Can you give more info? Jim

 The actual socket on the MIDI keybpard where I connect it to my computer by USB fell out. So it's not working at all.

That is the only socket on the thing and it's USB powered so it's useless now.

what kind of board is it? if its usb powered id bet it can send midi via the usb connection.

don't you know anyone who does soldering  / electronics ? it'll probably take about 5-10 minutes to fit at most.

go down your cash convertors / pawn shop , you might find some keyboards in there.

to actually answer your question though (sorry rude of me before) you can open either the piano roll view or the staff view and manually enter notes..  might take a little time at first but it flies by when you get the hang of it. 

Yeh, I guess that's the only way. It's annoying because I usually make music by just freestyling and fooling around...and then it all comes together.

Anyway, I'l try it. I'll just get a new MIDI when I can.

No I don't know anyone that does unfortunately.

hey rainbow, you never did say what kind of keyboard you have.  have you checked the mfrs website to see if it's possible to send midi via the usb cable since that's what it uses as a power source??
