I gone and broken mine, just this morning. A Bulk dump/upload went wrong and now I can't get the thing working again.
 
I've searched the internet for bulk dump stuff, and had a certain amount of success with that, but when I try to upload the MIDI files, the OB-12 still says that it's waiting for the data...
 
I'm not holding any hope out and I'm prepared to stick this thing on the rubbish tip.
 
I'm so gutted, because in the early hours of this morning I was really making headway with driving it with SPlat

I think I made a mistake by dragging the .mid file into an open project.
 
When I right clicked on the .mid file and selected open with Sonar, played the file that opened, my OB-12 recognised the data.
 
This is still one strange piece of kit though. Some things work fine, but I'm left scratching my head about some stuff...

I've had one of these for years and used it on both our last two albums - even though I dropped it packing it away one day and managed to smash one of the jack sockets, after a quick repair it was up and running again in no time - have to say mine has never exhibited that sort of behavior, so can't really help, only to say this is a fantastic synth - terribly misunderstood and underrated - once you get into it (which I admit does take a fair bit of time and a lot of trial and error) it really is a very capable and very interesting synth - if you get a bit frustrated with it again and consider the rubbish tip, can I have the address of the tip please!!!!!!

Tis a great VA synth for sure Nigel, but I've now totally given up trying to get multi mode to work with MIDI. Bloomin thing treats timbre change messages as program changes, so it's got me stumped, yet again.
 
Not taking it to the tip just yet though
