In a live performance, rather than trigger a sound on a virtual instrument/sampler from "a midi note" from my keyboard controller, I want to trigger a midi phrase from "a midi note" from my keyboard controller.
(Then the triggered midi phrase plays a sound on a virtual instrument/sampler).
 
Currently I play such phrases using a sampler - by recording the phrase as a wave, load it into a sampler, and assign it to a midi note to trigger and playback the phrase. But if I need to transpose or change tempo the sampled phrase, a sample is not going to work as well as a midi phrase.
 
If I can instead trigger a "midi phrase" with a single midi note from my keyboard controller, then I can accurately "vari the tempo or key" without artifacts or other problems.
 
Are there plugins that are "midi phrase players".
Any ideas?
 

Check out the Matrix View. It should do what you want.
 
Pretty sure it can trigger MIDI loops and fire them off to active synths.

+1, you can assign MIDI learn to MV cells (not sure about entire columns though, not tried that one).

I think you can... but I am also not sure. Just been too busy on other tasks to fully rip into the MV.
