Worth checking this out to "verify" the latest Melodyne v4 with Sonar Platinum.  Amazing engineering in the new version:

I've just upgraded from Editor 2 to the latest Studio 4 and had a brief check of the current SPlat (Lexington) ARA integration and the new v4 Studio shows up (replaced V2 Editor) and is working as expected. The update process was rather seamless, as I just ran the Melodyne installer and a few seconds later it was done.

Cheers,

Are there any changes in the licensing or authorization process?

Thanks.

No, it uses whatever you were using before. My authorization is tied to my DAW and still is. Some choose to use iLok instead and that is what V4 will use, if that is the preferred method.

Despite the title, what they show in the video seems to be standard in Mv3, too.

There are lots of updates in Melodyne 4. We worked with Celemony throughout the V4 release cycle to ensure tight integration in SONAR. Although M4 with work in X3, some of the newer features and UI in Melodyne will require the latest version of SONAR to work fully. Also there are numerous bug fixes and improvements to ARA in the latest SONAR.

That all sounds good. I think I will upgrade from editor to studio, because the special offer and the new cool sound editor is only available in studio.

By "the latest Sonar" are you referring to Lexington or are you referring to one of the Spring releases that will include Melodyne Essentials 4?

Seeing as the development of Melodyne 4 is now ready for release one could assume that the work Noel was referring to was in the past. Especially as he puts the work in the past by his use of the phrase "we worked with Celemony throughout the V4 release cycle". It's now released. So it couldn't have been with a version of Sonar that does not yet exist.

I haven't verified this, but it seems like one of the key new M4 features is not fully compatible with Sonar yet: the tempo-extraction and -manipulation seems very cool but would obviously be far more useful if the tempo information could be shared between the programs in some way... apparently this is possible in Studio One, according to this thread, but I don't have any way to check that.

It would be great to know if this will make it to Sonar in the foreseeable future...
