An interesting error is occurring out of the blue.

When i try to load Pentagon 1 through Menu>insert>soft synth i get the following message

(Yellow triangle menu) "Failed to insert soft synth. The synth may no t be properly installed" i then click ok.

It seems wierd because i have used it before and i have made no changes to my system since.

I have never unloaded and reinstalled soft synths before. if you feel i should, please advise me on how to do it.

Thanks in advance.

Something changed, so you may need to insert your sonar DVD and install just that synth with a custom install.

First see, if its in your plugin manager under the DXI menu. But even if its there, it still can be corrupt, so an install may be needed

Just to be sure I would try to insert through Synth Rack, too, before re-installing.

Something got corrupt then. Running the vsr scanner wont do any good, since its a DXI, so just reinstall it form your sonar dvd. That's the fastest way to getting it back working..

If i try to add it through the FX bin i get this message: Cakewalk missing plug in stand in

Plug in: rgc: audio pentagon I

This plug in is missing or improperly installed on your system. the original plugin state is saved by this stand in and will be restored if you save the project and subsequently load it on a system where the plug in is porperly installed.

I get this same error message even though I have never used pentagon at all. Mine is a fresh install of sonar platinum. I get this error when I attempt to use one of the pre-loaded templates on the startup screen.

I get this error when I attempt to use one of the pre-loaded templates on the startup screen.

Which template ?

I get errors on several templates because what they need isn't installed on my system (Sound Center, MS GS Wavetable Synth, "C:\Cakewalk Projects", etc.).

So you must be selecting a template that makes use of Pentagon, though I can't find one of mine that does.

EDIT: OK, I found it, but it's not a template, it's the Tutorial Project "Instruments Platinum.cwp".

It's probably an old example project left over from the days Pentagon was included.  There's a lot of that stuff lying around.

I also get the missing Rex loop and RXP's Groove Browser in the project is completely empty.

I believe you have to run sonar as administrator for pentagon to work.
