It's a good update for sure, but nothing really earth shatteringly cool.  "Slim" isn't a bad thing, and I don't consider fixing things to be "phat".  Just my opinion.  I'm sure the Prime and Artist folks don't agree.

Putting the arranger track in the free version stands out as a nice marketing move. That is a slick feature that would make users critical of other DAWs.

Very smart move, IMO.  The arranger track is very useful

Hornet plugins were rejected in VST scan but a rescan fixed that.

Thanks for the heads up.

I eventually gave up on 3.5.1 as it made S1P unstable for my workflow when it had been more stable than SPlat before that. I will see if things have improved with this release but SPlat has been super stable recently.

One thing; does anyone know whether these updates also update any of the instruments (30 files when I last looked none of which seem to have version numbering)?

Interesting that I hear about updates to my software mostly from this forum and not the manufacturer.  Dang.

ZincTrumpet's experience with Studio One is his own experience.  Not for many others who have a total stable experience since version 1.5.  I have not had even one crash since I started using the program.

It is also not up to the manufacturer to alert people of updates either.  (Although in some cases for me they actually do) If you are serious about using Studio One you will visiting their forum on a regular basis and that information is quite clear there when it happens.

But I do agree this forum is great for alerting to many other updates in situations where you are not visiting every manufacturers forum for every plug-in you might have and they are not alerting you etc.. The Software thread here is a very useful thread.  And a very interesting one.
