Hey all. Im having big trouble "writing" in the pianoroll. Well... I can write in the notes, but it wont play them all if i hit play.
Sometimes it only play one note in a chord, and sometimes none at all. Sometimes it helps if i "move" the starting of the note a bit...
Sorry for a real dumb question, but I really need help.
 
 
 

Welcome. Not trying to fob you off but have you done the tutorials? There's 9 tutorials in the help file PressF1.

Also Cakewalk University is jam full of videos that cover a lot of basics. See the sticky posts at the beginning of this forum for links.

Just google Caketv or go to YouTube and search for Sonar videos. There's heaps of basic stuff done by users from this forum. There's also pay for videos done by a number of pro outfits available.

What MIDI instrument are you using? Is this happening with all your instruments?

I don't know if this is your problem, but this is one issue that could cause what you're experiencing. If you're trying to play a chord and only one note is sounding out, you may be using a monophonic instrument, or an instrument that is set to play a legato articulation. In order to play multiple notes at once, you have to be using a polyphonic instrument, or an instrument that's set to play polyphonically.
