meh
my performance meter yesterday changed from showing tiny amounts of use on 12 cores to a lot of usage on 1 big core.  I don't think there is anything to change this is Sonar....ne1 know why it would change itself?

I don't know if this applies, but I have noticed that some plugins are not very good at spreading use accross multiple cores/threads, namely the mastering and linear eqs out there.IK's MEQ 432 is a big offender and therefore only used on my master bus. I understand their stealth eq is also a big hogand their linear EQ is another offender.

If you are seeing only once core check the settings to make sure you have enabled "Use Multiprocessing Engine". Found in Preferences>Playback and Recording

Another possibility is that a Windows update has turned cpu core parking on, assuming it was previously turned off. That can sometimes result in one core being absolutely thrashed to death before Windows decides to wake up a second core.

You changed your topic to "Answered". Which of the suggestions did the trick for you? Was it "Use Multiprocessing Engine", or "CPU Core Parking"?
