  • [Solved] Region FX drop down menu not working!

When I click on the Region FX menu in Track View nothing happens.
All the the other menus are working OK (View/Options/Tracks/Clips/MIDI).
Appears to be the same with all projects.
I'm on X3 - trying to use Melodyne

Anyone got any clues to solve this?

Usually this means the Melodyne VST3 format has not been installed.

Hmm strange, it was working fine a couple of months ago.

Okay, not too good with this kind of thing. There's a Melodyne.dll file under Program Files (x86)/Cakewalk/VSTPlugins. Is this the 32 Bit version?

Where should the VST3 version have default installed to? How do I check if I have it?

VST3 plug-ins have the extension .vst3. The dll path provided probably points to the 32bit VST2 version. If you have the VST3 version installed it will show up as a Region FX and as a VST3 plug-in in the VST3 section under the Celemony folder of the "Default All Plug-ins" layout for your effects plug-ins.

Okay thanks
I checked and there's no Celemony folder or Melodyne under VST3 section.

I guess that means that somehow the .vst3 plugin has disappeared from my PC - very weird!
....or could it be that it's in a folder that has somehow become "forgotten" by the VST Manager?

How do I re-download Melodyne Essential? When I go to my Cakewalk account it's listed under My Products with a serial number but there is no download link.

The only way the VST3 could be installed and SONAR not pick it up is if you manually deleted the VST3 path from the VST scan path in preferences or the plug-in failed in some way during scanning and it is in the Excluded List in the plug-in manager. The path is added automatically by SONAR. If the plug-in is in the excluded list try enabling it, rescanning failed plug-ins or a VST reset should pick it up.

If, on the other hand, the VST3 format is not installed but another format is, you should be able to re-run the installer from the Windows Control Panel Programs area.

If I look in the control panel under Programs & Features I can see Melodyne singletrack and also Melodyne Runtime 4.1 (x64)

I'm afraid I don't really know how to "re-run the installer from the Windows Control Panel Programs area"
Any advice on how to do this? thanks

BTW, I'm using Windows 10

The proper name of the product is Melodyne Singletrack. Right-click and select the change option to load the install wizard. It should default to the modify option. Click next and there should be an option to install different plug-in formats. Install the VST3 format for your SONAR host. IOW, select the 32bit VST3 if running SONAR 32bit or 64bit VST3 if running SONAR 64bit. Select both if you have both 32bit and 64bit versions of SONAR installed and you want to use Melodyne as a Region FX in both.

Hi thanks for your help.
I followed what you suggested but a window comes up saying "Set up needs next disc"
The suggested directory path to this incorrect though and I'm not sure where to go next.

I thought ME was included in the 5 part installation files for X3 - or am I wrong?
I still have these downloaded on my PC - do I direct the install wizard to one of these?

It should not ask for a disk at all. At least when I right-click on Melodyne Singletrack in the "Programs and Features"  section of the Windows "Control Panel" I get two options Uninstall and Change. Selecting Change loads the Melodyne Installer.
