Usually, when opening X1, the present sequence I have been working on is named at the top of the list in the Open File column.
However I have a file there which is blocking this.
The message I get is " ******* file contains incorrect path"

I've deleted every trace of the corrupted file from the PC but I'm still getting it at top of the list when opening . I'm wondering how to purge it from the system.? Where the Opening list can be found ?

not sure if you can as a user, a Cakewalk programmer probably could I'm guessing.
you could just create a new project, name it 1, then repeat this a number of times (name it 2, 3, 4 ..) and the corrupt file would move down in the order list....and eventually dissapear iic. (my list has 8 files).
not sure if this list is based on a number of projects, or a time period....but I expect it will disappear by itself sometime.

Thanks...I did try loading files with numerals first and it works, the roque file goes down the list. But after switch off then reboot there it is again at the top of the list again !
I'm loathe to remove X1 and reload again in case it causes more serious problems . I just wondered if you can get into the start up commands or something to erase the file.

You could search the registry for the incorrect path - it is likely maintained either there or in AppData.

It's a registry value - my KuPcake utility (search the forum for it) will let you delete from outside SONAR (unless the registry is corrupt!).
