FWIW the library in question was Steven Wilson's Ghost Writer, most (all?) patches in this library seem to use this method.

I need to look at asigning a slider on my A-PRO 800 to modulation for EW as both my keyboards have Roland type sprung mod levers.

Why not create a midi file to drop onto the beginning of your tracks to set the modulation from the start.

Spose you could create a collection of midi files with mod cc data set for different articulations.

Use browser to drag n drop!

Thanks for the explanation. I've had the subscription for months now, but haven't had time to dive in until later this month.

With the newer libraries it should never be the same all through a song. The mod wheel values select different articulations, so the value is relevant.

Yes, but one likely wouldn't use a single articulation...it would defeat the whole purpose of these dynamically changing instruments.

I'm using Hollywood Orchestra (mostly) and my templates have the values already initialized. Otherwise I would forget! Of course if you are using CC1 to switch patches that might not work as well for you.

I have a standard set of Controllers at the first of every MIDI track: Controller 121 to reset all controllers, pitch wheel=0, and sustain pedal=off.  You can change controllers as needed in the track, but at least you don't start with weird values.  (Note that this assumes that after this initialization you will have MIDI values for volume and pan.)
