As to Snap/Smart Grid...because I need to alternate constantly between snap/no snap when doing editing, tweaking timings, loop libraries, etc., my to Snap Happiness is keyboard shortcuts. "N" (snap on/off) is right up there with "D" as keyboard keys mostly likely to wear out. However, I also created a keybinding for Smart Grid on/off (alt-shift-N), and disabled Snap to Zero Audio Crossings. Between those and keybindings for my most-used snap values, things are wicked fast here in snap land.
