How do I set up the ID3 Info tab in the MP3 Export Options?

I want to save my info so it's automatically entered. Is there a way to do this that I am missing?

Thanks,

I think you can do this only when using the paid CW mp3 encoder. there is a pop-up window where you can choose the quality and ID3 tag settings. I am using free LAME external encoder and AFAIK you have to set some parameters into the command line in order to fill in ID3 info. but I am not sure how that works.

Yes, this is where I'm talking about. I do have the paid cakewalk version.

How do I set it up so that the ID3 tags are already filled in? After you enter the info Sonar will keep it there until you close and reopen Sonar. Then it's gone.

Oh, I see. Unfortunately I cannot help you with this. But I have found that when you fill in "Author" and "Song Title" in File/Info menu, it will then automatically be added to the ID3 Info. But it seems Genre, Track No. and Album fields have to be filled in manually. Maybe it would be more efficient to use some ID3 tag editing SW with a batch-edit function.

good luck

I'm not sure how to get the settings to stay in Sonar as I also always have to enter them each time. However, and you may already know this, you can enter ID3 info for multiple MP3 files using Windows Explorer. Just select all your files in Explorer and select Properties/Summary and make sure the advanced settings are shown. Then enter your values and select OK. This works in Windows XP, not sure about Vista or 7.

It would be great if markers could contain info, such as song title, author, track number and other tags that could be inserted into the rendered file or files (mp3, flac, or any other format supporting tags) in a project. There could be a popup dialog that would allow inserting the tags via wildcard tokens. There could be a start and end marker for each section that would be defined as a "song" to be rendered. If this was combined with a batch render queue the power and time saving potential would be magnificent. Does any other DAW have anything like this?
