Hi all,

So I get dropouts using Sonar's media browser.  Even in small projects.  Anyway. I have 1000's of samples so the navigation is too basic.  So I've been looking for a good sample browser for windows.  Coincidently I've been looking to replace VSampler too but for windows, its seems to be a lack of decent options.

The closest thing i've seen to my perfect solution is ICE AUDIO'S - Audio Finder.  But its MAC only.  GGGRRRRRrrrr!

I crave it because besides its obvious search/tag/organize functions, it has the ability to audition samples via midi keyboard instantly.  No Softsampler import is needed.  Just search, click & audition as Sonar is running alongside.

Dang!  I've been looking for days now and nothing I have found has this midi auditioning function too.  Essential or at least the ability to pitch the auditioning in some way.

RESONIC's Audio player is the only thing that comes close but is still in development for windows.  Only 1 guy programming it.  I can't wait too long and need an alternative for cutting down the slog of searching 1000's of samples efficiently.

Please please please, if anyone has a windows solution or suggestion, let me know.

Save me from finger clicking arthritis quick!  ;<

p.s. I appreciate all suggestions but to be precise, No double clicking/importing needed first.  & pitching ability.  There are 100's of programs/samplers with auditioning functions that don't have these abilitys so no need to mention any of them here.  Thanks.

You should not be getting drop outs. I would list your audio device and how you have it set up.

Not really an issue John.  I don't use it that often to warrant investigation.  Sonar runs well besides the fact.

Main aim in this post is to find a great alternatives.  Thanks though.

Checked them out.  Very basic but thanks for suggestions.

Man I'm actually stunned that there is nothing to rival Iced Audios Audio for Windows platform.  What a gap here....

Common Windows programmers.  Where are you?

I have an issue (maybe the same) with the media browser, when i want to preview audio files.
Some of the files in the list work, and others don't, randomly (when i do it again in the same list, it is not the same files that work or don't work).
This is not tragic, but a little annoying.

Yep had this too.

Never investigated it as I don't use media browser that much at all.

I don't use it much either.
That said, i would use it much more if it worked well.

Is there any other users who experience the same problem?

I've used it for .wav files and haven't had any issues.
I've used different preview assignments with no issues.
