Wow thanks to everyone for the help here. I knew CbB was streamlined, but I didn't know it was that stripped compared to SPLAT w/ Melodyne et al being a big miss for CbB. So maybe my purchase of the Lifetime Updates isn't a total waste after all

Bandlab is giving away the core of the DAW, plus prochannel modules plus sonitus plug-ins, vocal alignment and others, but you're right. There's a lot that SPLAT purchasers have that is not being given away for free. I paid for it myself full price.

And thanks a ton Dai for that list! That post alone has to be one of the most helpful for guys like me just getting back into all this.

Happy to help out. I'm like you. I used to use Sonar all the time till life got in the way, but I'm glad to be back into it now.

If you'd like a more in-depth list, you'll find it here:

Hi, one more question re all this. I just dl'd approx 16g worth of stuff in my installation of SPLAT just now and all the setup exe files appear to be on my PC still , I was just wondering if I these are the files I should be saving onto something in case CCC should go down or whatever, as the Sonar Plat appears to be one of them. THanks

All the installs used by CCC should be in C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Command Center\Downloads (unless you changed the directory).

It's perfectly safe to move these on to some backup device to free up space. Just copy them back to the same directory when you need them. CCC will try to download them again if it can't find them there.
