Very fair review.
I was in the 'wait and see' camp which Brian describes in the review. I was of the opinion that the new release/update model could work but the transition and implementation might prove difficult.
Around the JP update, I became convinced that Cake has done a superlative job with the new model.
Best wishes for the New Year to the Cakewalk staff and everyone involved.

Yeah this may have pushed me over the edge after putting off upgrading for a while (due to my well-documented but apparently unrealistic fear of a technology melt-down).
