Hi Everyone ,
Just wondering if anyone can shed some light ,
My Audio inputs on some of my audio tracks change by themselves to the Record timing master input ? how is this even possible? i change the inputs to NONE ( WHICH IS TIME CONSUMING ) and during the course of my work later on they change there inputs again .
 
if i insert a new audio track the default input shows NONE , so whats going on ? Surely someone else must be experiencing this ?

UPDATE , Ok so i insert a audio track , its default input when it is inserted is NONE output is Master Bus ,all good so far , however as soon as i hit the global or track ECHO button it changes the input to my ( Microphone/Record timing Master Input )
 
Surely there must be a way to stop this ?

If I look in Preferences>Audio>Driver Settings, under "Recording Timer Master" I have "UA-25EX IN", which is correct for my little two-input Cakewalk UA-25EX interface.
 
When I hit the Echo button, my [ Input] dropdown automatically changes from "None" to "SterU25XIN". If I hover my mouse over the relevant dropdown, the yellow tooltip reads "Input = Stereo UA25EX IN".
 
If I set the Echo to ON, Sonar needs to get the signal from somewhere. If it is set to None, I guess the design committee decided the first available input pair is a reasonable default source.

I can confirm this behavior is so in Lexington, Sonar X3, X2, X1 and Sonar 8.5.3

The input echo button allows you to hear the input live while you're playing/singing.  If the input is set to None, what exactly are you expecting to happen if you press the input echo button??

Similar behavior with MIDI, by the way. Selects "MIDI Input omni" in 8.5.3, and "All Inputs - Omni" in Lexington.

its great for a mic tracks
 
I use audio tracks for bounced and audio samples also , and when i hit the input echo global i don't want these tracks to connect to my mic because there's lots of tracks picking that mic signal up ,( i have only just connected my mics-to my audio interface, so i guess i never noticed it in previous years when using the global input echo to mix midi sounds , so i guess i will just disconnect my mic in preferences until i need to use it , it would be nice though to be able to override certain midi and audio track inputs so they stay "Locked" on the input you select if that's what you want when using the global input echo !
