Hi APDS, welcome to Sonar Forum !
This issue will be hard to diagnose without some of your system specs.
Hmmm, Sonar 7, hopefully you have lots of RAM ?
You may have to run BFD3 in a lower detail setting to reduce the maximum number of velocity layers or run it in 16-bit mode which cuts in half the amount of RAM it uses.

Hi again APDS, I worry about only 4GB RAM, since Windows OS alone uses a good chunk of it.
Did you set a default Preset Drum kit to load when inserting BFD3 ? You may have to scale it down to suit your limited computer environment.

Also, Sonar 7 goes back many years now, and unfortunately you may have to upgrade to a newer version to utilize BFD3 to it's full potential . . . that said, you still may be able to run it in some form of scaled down mode to get it working until upgrading.

From the BFD3 manual . . . check out: global preferences for detail settings and also a detail setting per Drum class so you can specify a single layer, 25%, 50% or the full set of velocity layers for all kicks, snares, toms, cymbals, hihats and percussion.
(This may make it more usable with less computer resources.)
Let us know how it goes.

He "got it from the internet"

No surprise then that you're finding it impossible to upgrade, sounds like a cracked copy to me.
Do you still have your Sonar 6 discs?

The crash log means nothing to me, but I agree with noynekker in that your lack of RAM could well be causing issues.

Is this a laptop or desktop?

Leadfoot
I have windows 7 pro 64 bit and have only 4G of RAM. I run BFD3 with full velocity layers in Sonar(platinum) just fine.

Where has the OP said he got Sonar 7 from the internet?

That's great that you can run BFD3 in full detail leadfoot, slightly surprising but great ;-)

To the OP, is sonar using your sound cards ASIO driver and what is your sound card?
As Noynekker said, giving your full system specs is always a good idea, mine (like many others) are in my signature so people don't need to ask.

Insufficient RAM is more likely to produce stuttering playback than crashes so I don't think it's a RAM issue.

I have a windows 7 32bit machine with sonar 8.5 and BFD3 runs fine.

You might try downloading the demo of sonar platinum to see if BFD3 runs better.
