Ever since the Roland take-over years, Cakewalk just sucks and their support went from bad to non-existent. Even their website gives you the run around until you finally find the link to email support which simply says, "web page is under construction".

You are looking at the old Gibson/Cakewalk support pages. BandLab support is here.

You do know that SONAR is now "Cakewalk by Bandlab" because Bandlab took it over, right?

SONAR 8 is long out of support. The company that made that product was shut down by Gibson last year. This forum and the knowledge base are probably your best support option at this time. BandLab purchased Cakewalk assets earlier this year. Depending on the question, BandLab may be able to help.

It would be helpful if you mentioned what the problem is, as people here might be able to help.

Isn't Ver. 8 about 10 years old?

The person's sig says that they have X1 Pro, but they say they have 8.

They don't know what version of the program they have, what company they are trying to get support from, or that they can now get the latest top-of-the-line feature-packed upgraded less-buggy version that will run like a bat out of hell on their i7 system entirely free just for registering at BandLab's site.

I don't know what else to say except good luck. Good luck. And no, support doesn't suck. It's actually pretty great for what you pay.

Imagine for a second that you produce DAW software.
Now go hire 4 support individuals that can get to the source of all the trouble in very short order.

Support sucks no matter who you are.

We're here to help and are a darn site better that anyone can can be hired to answer the phone / email at CbB. This will likely be for a long long time. scook is probably the best we have and you can't run ads for that kind of walking man-ual.
