I'm doing a new install of Sonar Plat and aaaaaalllll my plugins. I would like to keep as much as possible off my system drive (SSD), C: as it is small and I have a couple additional SSDs. I used Command Center, and it loads everything to C (I saw no options to change that). I still have earlier versions where I believe there was a choice given. Would it be best to load over an earlier version, or is there a way to load some of these libraries on the other drive and reconfigure Sonar to find them there?

Sometimes you can choose, sometimes you can't.  Sometimes you can move things after the fact and edit the registry (but then have to redo it after the next update), sometimes you can't.  Or you can set up symbolic links so Sonar will be fooled into thinking things are where they should be when they're not, and this'll survive an update. 
 
This last option is probably the best, but I don't do it (yet) because my main system folders are already sym linked (that's how Windows does different languages) and don't want everything to go through chains of links (maybe that's not a problem ?).  Here's a post describing how.

To have maximum control when installing with the Command Center, on the settings page use the paths tab to change default paths and enable verbose mode on the options tab to display installer options. Access the settings page by clicking the gear in the upper right of the Command Center.

Looks like it moved it all, but there was a warning that bad things can happen if I change that. Since I survived, I'll assume it should be OK...so no need for the symbolic link? Also, would it be wise to change the location of the plugin folders?

Not knowing anything about your setup, it is difficult to discuss directory junction specifics. The Command Center provides for a custom VST2 path. Moving VST3 files while supported by SONAR is contrary to the VST3 specification and my not work with other software.

Just making the move from an older Win 7 machine...
I've installed Sonar, but just the program. I just went to install Rapture (the next item on the list) and there is no option to change drives, so it looks like the symbolic link might be in order here?
 
With this being a new install, I can take my chances with the plugins till I come across one that won't work that way...
