Do these use your own guitar libraries for the actual samples, or do they come with samples?  Given the price, I doubt they have their own sample libraries.
 
I have RealGuitar plus some other things (e.g., Vir2 Acoustic Legends, a Native instruments product I forgot the name of), and I like them but always want different sounds.  If these could turn my various synth and soft-synth guitar libraries into strumming, that would be great.  (I can do it by hand, but what a huge PITA.)

StrumMaker IV does use their own sounds and there seems to be a way to trigger sounds from other sound libraries.

Don't know about Strum 2's capabilities.

Strum is a synthesizer that physically models the sounds of the guitar.  It doesn't use samples, so I don't think you will be able to use it to trigger external samples.

If I use AAS Strum Acoustic GS-2, can I do the following:
I. A MIDI Track - to send the chord notes
ii. Another MIDI Track - to send the pattern [Strumming keys / individual 6 keys]
AAS Strum Acoustic GS-2 converts the chords input to guitar fret keys and will play through AAS Strum Acoustic GS-2 audio engine.
I want to output MIDI data from AAS Strum Acoustic GS-2 to send to other MIDI instrument.
 
AAS Strum Acoustic GS-2 supports MIDI data send?

Strum 2 is pretty remarkable... no samples, loads lickety split... sounds amazing, very versatile... for 49 bucks you get wonderful acoustics and electrics...great strum engine... go to their website.,. check it out.
 
indegenous... been meaning to pick up their strum maker to try on strings and other things.
 
Orange Tree updated Evolution guitars are the real deal but way more money...
 
konrad... you will blow ur mind.... I have a zillion sampled "guitarz"... it is amazing what they've done with the improved modeling for the  GS-2.

Only thing I wish if GS-2 would send the MIDI Out.

In another thread just posted the OP says he has left using Sonar for good.

I have "Strum Acoustic Session" -> "Strum Session 2" in addition to "Strum Acoustic Session 1" as VST2. So yes, limited version comes with Platinum. But note that GS-2 (full product) is not included, it is "special" version.
 
The difference: Sonar version has 2 instruments with 12 presets each, no model tuning, no effects tuning and it is locked to Sonar. GS-2 has 6x30+ presets, works in other DAWs and standalone, includes the model and effects tuning.
