I've spent a couple of days working with Craig's rock project template on a recording I made on Tuesday.

It is really fun to try to figure out how to get a Geoff mix from a Craig template.

I've never used so many Sonitus effects.

There are so many little tricks in this template that make sense.

I'm curious if anyone else has taken the time to bounce a track using the template. I do a lot of mixing where I don't have a full drum set, so I don't always have the tracks to justify trying it.

Cool, but an FYI - the Mastering and Mixing templates were by Dan Gonzalez, so he should get the props. I did some of the Showcase ones, along with the Orchestral and Pop templates.

The default location is...
C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR Platinum\Project Templates
 
When you hit the start screen, you can choose New Project from Template and the project will open. For example there is a Song-Writer's Template that has Drums, Bass, Guitar and Keys along with the touch keyboard so you can bang out a new song real fast.
 
Just little things. You can tweak them and save your own templates for quicklaunch so you can get those ideas down fast.
 
Over the years, I've not taken advantage of project templates as much as track templates.
 
When I play guitar, I often bring in a bunch of tracks (midi synth audio outs (stereo), guitar direct, guitar after pedal board, midi channel and synth track).
 
The project template is a nice idea. I'm guessing it's underutilized just because we all get pretty fast at creating everything we might want anyway.
