2 things - Sonar VST Manager

1- Changes in the VST Manager/Scanner since around the Foxtrot update has started to loose various 32bit plugins to start, All my IK-Multimedia product disappeared, including Sampletank, Miroslav Orchestra, Moog, Tron,  Sonic Synth, Fender, & others (All standalone's work) and last month cakewalk's x64 Pentagon I. I tried the - re-install fails setting on scanner etc. and the missing plugins names run by in the scan mode without showing any problems, such as licensing etc, I tried reinstalling one of the plugins, just in case, and it made no difference. These were used in many recording and I'm unable to load them. At this time I'm considering rolling back to a point where they worked and the rest of the subscription is a waste. Need a fix on the Plug-in manager. or able to uninstall new version and install older one? I need these programs recognized again.

2- It cuts off the display names: ie -  NI product Kontakt5 & Reactor5 various outs ( x32, x64, 8-out, 16-out, FX) calling them all the same; 5 entries for Reactor5 etc. I change them in plugin manager using 'friendly name' but the next time U run the scanner it reverts them all back. I turned off the auto run, but any time U add a new plugin U have to do the  'friendly names' all over again. Very annoying. FIX THIS.

Hi. Did you try to do a vst reset and rescan? Preferences (P), File, Vst Settings. Include failed plugins. It could work.
Best of luck.

I have the same issue, again with IKM plugs. They work fine as standalone, the .dll s are present in the appropriate VST folder, but Sonar just doesn't see them. They don't reappear after a scan with any/all of the options selected. They are not Excluded and they are not wrongly classified as Effects rather than Instruments. I don't have either of the VST 3 Migration options selected. Even the full Reset available in Preferences - VST settings doesn't bring them back (nor does it throw up any error messages during the reset scan. Anybody know where they have gone, or more pertinently how to get the scan to see them?

This is 64-bit Splat (latest town) and the plugs happen to be 32-bit, but plenty of other 32-bit plugs are showing up normally.

Well just for kicks I had a look at the VST Inventory in Regedit. The missing items had keys, but they were much less detailed than the keys of other VSTs. So I deleted the reg entries and ran the scan again, hoping that this would force a proper rescan and recreate good keys. It didn't, so I am no further forward. Just reporting in!

Almost always the problem with old IKM plug-ins is SONAR not running as administrator. Try running SONAR as administrator.

Thanks for that thought. I routinely do, but I have recently had to do some serious patching up to my entire Windows set-up as a consequence of a mobo failure, so your suggestion is interesting. I had forgotten to re-patch the shortcut to force run as administrator, but I have fixed it now. It hasn't immediately made any difference, after running a scan with "rescan failed plugs" selected. Do you think there's anything else that I need to do as well?

Suddenly some of my Cakewalk VST's are not showing up properly, and are in excluded. This seems to have just happened, so I thought it was Windows 10 update or the Lexington that "wreaked the havoc".  I was trying to get Melodyne Editor 2 to show up as a VST3 and noticed Boost 11, and 3-4 others in excluded.

Hi. I believe that they belong to the Style Dials.
All the best.

Meaning they've been "demoted"? and are now incorporated there?

I would think that should work. There is always a full VST reset/rescan. I do not have any of the old IKM plug-ins. I believe some have abandoned the old dlls and have gone to a version of Sample Tank 3 to continue using the sample libraries. You might want to work with IKM support as they still sell some of their old plug-ins. They have to expect users will try to use them on modern OSes for which the plug-ins were not written.
