To me it was very easy except it wiped my Win 8.1 install. Keep in mind I was doing a "clean" install. Because my system drives are removable I put the Win 8.1 drive in a different bay and began installing Win 10 on a new HD. Before I could stop it it screwed up the Win 8.1 drive so bad I have to reformat it. Meaning I lost everything on it.
I have been rebuilding my lost licenses ever since. Some are just gone. Most were retrievable from the developers. Now am I upset? No I'm not. Why because life is way too short. None of my data was harmed. Just all the emails and documents on my 8.1 documents folder. With 8 and 8.1 I had decided to let Win put things where it wanted. Normally I put things on other HDs. So it wasn't MS's fault but my own. Also I'm not sure why I put my 8.1 system disk in the drive anyway. Except with it not there 10 would not install.
Now did that have any impact on my view of Windows 10. No. I saw it as a big step forward. Where apps and programs run side by side without strange protocols interfering.
Plus I got a tablet shortly after adopting Win 10 on the desktop. It came with 8.1 I updated to 10 and it was the best update experience I ever had. There are a ton of touch shortcuts plus you may find as I have a mouse is better supported too. Windows 10 is a winner and I will strongly recommend it whenever asked.
I know you will find it to be a solid OS with all the years of experience MS has stowed away over the years incorporated within it. If you have any questions about it I may have the answers or I may know where to get the answers.
