I love reading people solving their own problems. How many people would go searching in users/(username)/AppData/Roaming ?
Most wouldn't. Good save!

That is because they never had to go hunting for the right Cakewalk.ini file :D

I got BA 3.0.9 updated no problem, but today I went to start CW for the first time in several days and BA showed the CW button as "Update", so I clicked it to do the update.  The status under CW in BA says "Downloading... (1/1)" and it has been like that for a while now.  Task Manager shows BA network usage going between 0.3 & 1 Mbps so I'm hoping it's actually downloading the update, but it's really annoying that there is no progress bar on BA to show the status of the download.  I'll keep sitting here and hope that it finishes soon but it just seems like it's taking forever.

The "Downloading 1/1" makes me wonder if BA did not truly update. It shows me a % complete. Stevecase19 (Post #59 above) may be on to something above. 3.0.9 was my first install of BA.

Hi all

I'm still struggling with BA hanging up when it starts up. The rectangular window opens, and there is a Windows logo (four squares pulsing one corner after another round and round). Window is greyed out, and appears to be trying to do something, but I've left this running for hours at a time and still it persists.

I've uninstalled the 3.0.6 version and re installed the 3.0.9 version a few times, but still nothing.

Cakewalk is working now, but I worry about how am I going to get updates if I can't get the assistant to work.

Does anyone have any experience on how to get this up and running?

(i'm on Windows 10 by the way)

Thanks!

Did you try deleting the two folders before re-installing BA as mentioned in my last post? These are created when BA installs, but it seems that (in my case at least) something left in one of them was preventing BA from launching properly. The folders are located at C:/users/(your user name)/AppData/Roaming, and they are called "Bandlab Assistant" and "bandlab-assistant." You should delete these after you uninstall  BA, but before you reinstall it.

And what about next update?

So when will be any complete "what's new" or "Release Notes" for every Cakewalk build listed there?

Historically releases like this one rarely had "what's new" or "Releases Notes" documents. The OP details the update for this release.

I got a choice for 4 things (Melodyne, etc.) but no mention of build 31. Although it's now downloading 5 things, however it doesn't say what. Note to the developers to tell the user what's being downloaded and where.
