Paul you are doing great work here. I don't seem to have the bug but that isn't important. What is important is that it should be fixed.

Thanks John but I'm not doing anything that anyone else wouldn't do, trying to help out.

I haven't heard anything back from Dan but I'm not sure that I would.  Hopefully, the Cake team is working on this.

An update on this issue.

I managed to track this down to two specific buses.  I have passed this information on to Noel and will report back when he responds.

What happens if you delete these rogue busses and re-create them?

It's not been unknown for a bus to become corrupt, though I haven't experienced this for many versions now

^^ I had this with a Metronome bus some time ago. Recreating them helped.
All the best.

For what its worth, there are times where projects just get f'ed up with strange things happening.   Have you tried safe mode?  Try opening  the autosave copy or if you have versioning turned, open  another version.   Chances are the issue will go away.  You may never figure out what is wrong but at least you can move forward.

Thanks Jonesy.  I'll try that.  The issue does cross several saved versions of the project though.

Thanks Allen.  I will add those to my list of things to try.

Update:

I worked this problem again last night and now I'm getting different results!  Previously, I had this narrowed down to the Sonitus Delay on a bus in the PC, out to a Sum Bus also with PC engaged.  Disengage these two PC's and no hang.  Now, I tried several other projects, (which hang on pressing a bus solo button so it's not project specific), and deleted the Sonitus Delay from the PC and it still hangs!  Also tried the new Lexington patch, same results.

I don't know why I got different results previously although during that test, all the PC's were disengaged except on the two buses mentioned above.  I'm almost thinking my projects are too big for these new patches!  On projects with lower track counts I have to work harder to get Sonar to hang, but it finally does.  Back to JP and everything is fine.

Any other thoughts?  Thanks.
