• SONAR
  • ASIO Confusion. Can't select my drivers. Windows 10?

Have a UA-25 ex interface. I have Reaper and Reroute installed.
I cannot select both the UA-25 EX's inputs and outputs for use with Sonar X3, or the latest version of the Platinum demo , simultaneously. Either the input or the output reverts back to the Reroute driver.
If I uninstall Reroute, Sonar acts as I expect.
The main thing that changed on my system since the last time the drivers worked normally is Windows 10 from Windows 7.
Other ASIO using apps on my PC seem to not get this.

Thoughts?

Once in a while my M Audio Delta 1010lt Asio disappears from Sonar. I am using Windows 10. Technically, there is no windows 10 driver for my interface. Is there a Windows 10 driver for your interface?

I have to restart my computer to get my M Audio Asio interface back in Sonar, but this only happens on occasion.

Are there any "software" ASIO driver installed. Does one of your DAW's do it?
Much like ASIO4ALL liable for conflict.

I would uninstall rearoute.

thanks.
Windows 10 installed an ASIO driver for my device itself.
I suppose Reroute is itself a "software" ASIO driver, but I can't think of any others.

Its more like rewire in what I'm able to figure out except its trying to hook up with ASIO of various programs. (I don't know why they choose that route.)  Not so much the drivers of hardware. Now that bit of info is the way I look at it I could be wrong. Still it interposes itself between your Sonar and the ASIO of your hardware. I wouldn't use it.

At best all it will let you do is input and output to and from different audio programs. Rewire is a better solution. That will not interfere with your ASIO drivers.

Yeah, I don't use it much, and I normally run Sonar with WDM drivers.
But it was working great before, with W7, and I hope there is just some setting somewhere that is causing this to happen.
Rewire is great, but it doesn't seem to allow MIDI out of the slave.

Well you are running Windows 10. Not everything will run as it did in Windows 7. Also I would look for an update to ReaRoute.

After a windows10 re-install, all my drivers work as expected in Sonar platinum, to which I am now happily subscribed.

I am experiencing the same issue as morgan

Once in a while my VS-700 ASIO device disappears from Sonar. I am using Windows 10. There is no official windows 10 driver for the VS-700.

I have to restart my PC to get the VS-700 ASIO interface back in Sonar, This has gotten worse with the last 3 updates to SPLAT. I have had to switch to using the WDM driver, this seems to work ok but not as good as ASIO.

I have also started getting a message that tells me the Audio device is in use by another program, even though I have the "Share Drivers With Other Programs" option checked.

Anyone else experiencing these problems? I'm thinking of rolling back to Windows 8.1
