Can I load new pattern in the MIDI track arpeggiator?

I am interpreting the OP's question as asking if a custom MIDI phrase or pattern can be loaded into the arpeggiator.  I do not believe there is a way to do so. . . you can only use the MIDI patterns that come with SONAR.  Saving your own MIDI patterns as arpeggiator presets is a feature I'd really like to see added in the future.  I just started using Rapture Pro and I like it, but there's no arpeggiator.  Better functionality in Sonar's built-in arpeggiator would be pretty nice for this reason.

Hence Cthulhu, from Xfer Records. Plus, you get the Chords module with the arpeggiator! Try the demo.

Looks cool but I'm not keen on shelling out $40 at the moment for a 3rd party solution! My hope is that the Bakers will include expanded functionality in one of the updates!

OK I could be wrong. In that case can someone elaborate on how to do this? The link above does not contain this info. Not that the "Preset" it talks about is just a snapshot of the arpeggiator settings... Not a custom pattern.

Other than using the legacy P5 software to create ptn files, I'm not sure there is another way. Suggest making a feature request to add a simple midi export to ptn file in sonar for use in the arpeggiator.

YES. There are 2 types of associated files: .ptn and .arp
We need to have a process so that we can record a midi pattern which can trigger as an arpeggiator.
I think that will have lot of scope not only as arpeggiator but also strumming or finger picking, while chords can be driven from another midi track.

When I created my arpeggiator I had just got ZETA+2 and was trying out its features. One of which was how to create an arpeggiator pattern. I was referring to ZETA+2 when I post here. Still based off the help I read you may be able to create your own. Load an arpeggiator pattern onto a MIDI track. Edit to your liking. Save as a new arpeggiator pattern.
