There is no guarantee that any Cakewalk employee is going to read every thread on the Sonar forum.

However, you CAN guarantee that every problem report submitted WILL be looked at and investigated.

I realized, that I don't like current report system. Why we should submit reports, if we write it here, and we know that Cakewalk guys read forum? We send it, take number, and most probably we never will get any response or action. It make me feel that developers have very small interest in discovering bugs, much smaller than users who find and submit them. I know that maybe it is not like that, some bugs are fixed, some major bugs are fixed very fast. But I often feel that my reports are just a waste of time.
Why some guys from Cakewalk, who should find bugs by themselves, and add them to the report system, can't read forum and add those bugs too, there are not so many in Problems section, just 2-3 in a day. Finally it is their job, and if users find bugs, that mean that they did it not ideally. It would make users feel that discovering bugs make some sense, that somebody is interested in it.

The idea isn't for you to get a response rather that Cakewalk get the feedback about bugs so they can work on them, You don't get a special mention just because you've logged a bug.

Do really expect them to trawl through thousand of posts looking for those that mention bugs. That's not a very smart use of resources. If you don't want to be part of the solution then stop whining about what you like and don't like. Many of us use the reporting system to file reports. It's the only system we have.

I also use reporting system and I have right to say that I don't like it.
There are 48 threads in Problem Reports section updated in the last month, only part of them are new. Hosts move threads, so threads with confirmed bugs finish there. It is very small amount of REAL bugs.
After that they are supposed to be added to the systems by amateurs who I guess often can't do it right with all steps. And after that nobody knows what happens with them.
Yes, I don't like it. And yes, I know that "It's the only system we have", and I don't like it.

Cakewalk's reporting system is a hassle to use. Expecting us to fill in that whole form and provide full repro steps is basically outsourcing their QA to paying customers. When they sort that out, I'll use it more often. Until then, they're going to get my problem reports here, which is often better anyway as the community can work together to home in on the issue.

If Cakewalk representatives always pop up when there's some important issue being discussed, they must be keeping a pretty close eye on the forums.  And we're constantly praising them for their participation here.  No way they're not aware of discussions on bugs.
