  • How to launch SONAR on startup?

This might not be the correct forum for this question, but here goes.

I put a shortcut for the SONAR executable into my Startup folder (...Users\Appdata\Roaming\...ect...Start Menu\Startup), restarted my computer and nothing happened.

So, I put a shortcut for Notepad in the same place, restart, and Notepad opens up with a new blank window.

Any thoughts out there in Illuminati-land?

Sorry mate, just tried it and it works perfectly on my laptop.

This is on a 64 bit Windows 10 Acer Aspire lappy. I am not logged on as an administrator.

Wild guess: Put the absolute path to the Sonar executable in the "Start in" field of the shortcut?

Go to C:\Programs files\Cakewalk\Sonar Platinum\SONARPLT  and copy that file then place it in the startup folder and it will work.

Make sure you are going to Users\<yourusername>\appdata and not Users\default

I don't do this because I need the computer fully booted before turning on audio interfaces and MIDI devices (in a particular order) and only afterwards can start Sonar ...

Might work OK, though, if using only one interface and windows doesn't hick up when booting with it already running
