I think there is a routing issue. Check all settings of the MOYU. If it has software be sure it isn't monitoring and sending audio to track 1 from the inputs of the MOTU. You will need to check everything. Also be sure there are no sends in Sonar active. A patch point maybe active.
Yeah, checked routing, etc. As for patch-points, I'm not sure. I can only assume that there's no patch points from every odd-numbered track to ever even-numbered track in the template. All MOTU settings are perfectly matched to X2's test. No changes were made here. At first, I thought it might have been my clock, or my OP-AMP mods, but I've never had this issue in older Sonar versions, only Platinum under Windows 8.1. I don't have a Windows 7 or 10 machine to test this on.
If I only record the one track, say track 1, then there's no static/distortion. If I arm Track 2 as well, Track 1 during playback, Solo'd or not, will sound static-y or distorted. I can arm all other tracks
except the Track #
after my source audio track, and I get clean audio recorded. It's only the next track from the one I'm recording audio on that causes this problem (audibly). For example, I have a 24-track template. I arm Tracks 1, 3-24, and record bass guitar or vocal onto track 1. The playback of Track 1 is clean. If I arm track 2, and record (in other words, all Tracks 1-24), then Track 1's playback is audibly affected with static or distortion. Same thing with arming 1-3, 5-24 and recording onto Track 3. If Track 4 is not armed, then Track 3's playback is clean. If I arm all tracks, 1-24, then playback of Track 3 is audibly affected. I have not tested this on more tracks, but expect the same results. I also have not tested to see if Track 24 was clean, since there's no subsequent track to it.
Again, none of this happens in X2. I'm planning to try X3 this weekend. As of now, I will have to use X3 to Track with and move the projects over to Platinum for mixdown. I've not had previous issues with X3.
