  • Need Win 10 drivers SOLVED

I have used a Frontier AlphaTrack since near it's inception. I love it. But, Win 7 drivers don't work. I know azslow3 has done a lot of work for  AT and FP. But I am sad to think my AT is falling by the wayside. It still was functional for me when I'd heard others couldn't work with plugins. So, is there a driver somewhere, or a app, program, script, etc that might keep me from sounding taps for my AT?

Do the W7 x64 drivers install in W10?
If not, have you tried to install in W7 compatibilty mode?
If they install but do not work, maybe try the Mackie control mode if you have not already.
I think that is how the Alpha works with Cubase.
The Frontier site is either gone or down so I can't get any driver info.

Thank you very much for the info. Frontier has been gone for some time. I tried Compatibility mode to no avail. It loads the icon in the tray, but when I plug the AT in, it doesn't load the driver. Switching to MCU didn't make the driver load either. So, I'm closer to a funeral, it seems..

I really hate to lose gear which works well that I have used for years. Like losing a friend.

Does Windows make the USB connect sound when the Alpha is plugged in?
Can you see the Alpha in Device Manager?
This is a hail Mary but have you tried a USB 2 only port ?
Some older gear has trouble with USB 3 ports.
Also what about legacy USB mode in the BIOS? (usually for USB 1.0)
I am not sure if the Alpha is USB 1.0,1.1 or 2.

It's always run from USB 2 for me. Never plugged into USB3. I've never heard it make the connect sound ever. Oddly enough, yes it does show up in device mgr.

It says the device is working properly, but never installed the drivers when I plugged it in. Then there's this showing up when I open the event viewer...

Device USB\VID_165B&PID_FAD1\6&12f8bec0&0&1 could not be migrated.

I have to look up the USB version, no clue.
I've not done that in the BIOS before. I'll have to look that up, too.

This makes no sense to me. I unplugged it from the USB port on back and plugged it in front - it loaded the drivers and works!! No idea why it showed up in USB controllers before I did this. Who cares, AT LIVES! Thanks much for walking the gauntlet with me, microapp. Maybe I can return the favor someday.
